Project Highlights
-
The building has a strong operating history and
operating costs among the lowest in the city.Operating costs remain significantly below competing buildings. Since the building was designed by practical, conservation-minded organizations intending to use the facility as their headquarters, the features incorporated in the original design continue to provide an impressive pay back.
-
1400 Sixteenth Street is the Washington area's first
EPA recognized Greenlights Energy Star Building. The building is fully insulated and was the first commercial office building in Washington to employ low emissivity windows and ice storage for cooling. The result has been that energy costs are about half that of a typical Washington area building.
-
The project contains a first rate conference facility.
The first floor conference facility with views of the garden and access from the main lobby has been an attractive leasing feature for tenants. Washington attracts numerous meetings of all sizes and many organizations value their proximity to this building feature.
